Using the Address Book

When you use e-mail you may build a large list of e-mail correspondents. Sometimes, their addresses may be lengthy or difficult to type or remember; however, Pine provides an address book feature to make handling e-mail addresses easier.

To add an e-mail address to your Address Book:

From the Main Menu screen type or use the arrow keys to select: A (Address Book).
Type or use the arrow keys to select: @ (AddNew) An Edit window will open and you will be prompted to fill in the following fields:

Nickname is a short name for an address book entry. Once an entry is saved in your Address Book, the composer function will fill in the address(es) for
this entry when you type the specified Nickname in the To: field of an e-mail compose window.
Fullname is the full name of the person or group in an entry.
Addresses is the e-mail address of the person or group in an entry. Note, you can set one nickname to send to multiple addresses.
Enter the desired information into each field. Choose Ctrl-X and then the Enter key to exit and save the entry.
The other Address Book entries: Fcc and Comment are not required for a basic address book entry. However, more information about these can be found in Pine's help file.
