Math/Stats Campers:
Thank you for your recent attendance to the Office of Information Technology’s
Math and Stats Camp. In addition to IT staff, six people, mostly graduate students, and including
three first time Math campers, were present
this past Wednesday, 1/31, for Lukman Bojuwon's
presentation: “Solving Fourier Transforms with Mathematica.
”
Prizes: two $5
gift gards to Barnes and Noble were give out as participation prizes.
The jackpot amount for the grand tech prize is now $17.
As a result
of a student request, another workshop-of-opportunity has been scheduled for
this coming Friday, February 9th, at 4PM in Weir 107. The topic will be Intro to
Unix, Part 2. http://www.mcsr.olemiss.edu/educationsubpage.php?pagename=unix2.inc.
Three students have already indicated that they will attend, and more are
welcome.
At today's
Math Camp, Dr. Taner Pirim will give an introduction to Hypothesis Testing in Mathematica,
after which we
will welcome any and all Math/Stats software questions.
