I am a retired teacher who taught special education for twenty years and middle school Latin for seventeen years. My husband, David Warren Steel, is professor of music and southern culture at the University of Mississippi. We both enjoy Sacred Harp singing. We have a dog, Cleo. I have two sons. Nate is a computer technician in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan; he has two sons, Charlie and Lachlan. Sam is a physician in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
