Getting to Oxford, Mississippi
- From the north and west. Take I-40 to Memphis, then
I-55 south to Batesville. At Batesville exit (Hwy 6) go east
some 20 miles. Exit at South Lamar Boulevard and turn
left, heading north. Go one mile to the courthouse square.
City hall is the red brick building on the right, with a
bronze statue of William Faulkner sitting on a park bench
out in front.

- From the northeast (Nashville, etc.). Take I-40 to
Jackson, Tennessee and go south on US-45 to hwy 18. Hwy 18 veers off to
the right on the south side of the city. Stay on that highway,
going through Bolivar and into Mississippi, where it becomes
hwy 7. Stay on hwy 7, going through Holly Springs to Oxford.
Exit hwy 6 West (Batesville). Then take the first exit at
South Lamar Boulevard and follow directions above.
- From the east (Alabama, Georgia). Take US-78 from
Alabama (Birmingham area) into Mississippi. Go through Tupelo
to Sherman exit. Turn left on hwy 9 (Pontotoc) and follow
about eight miles to hwy 76 (Oxford). Turn right and follow
four lane road, which becomes hwy 6 and proceeds to Oxford.
Exit at South Lamar Boulevard and turn right, following
directions above.
- From the south. Take I-55 north to Hwy 7 north
(Coffeeville exit); follow hwy 7 to hwy 6 West (Batesville).
Then take the first exit at South Lamar Boulevard and
follow directions above.
